Ledig lördag på stan, men kameraväskan fick följa med. Först åt vi smarrig mat från Elfenbenskusten på Global Picnic och sen gick vi bort till Feskekörka där en dryckesfabrikant anordnat en tävling där folk hoppades få vingar och flyga, men alla kraschade. Genomtänkt reklam? Det är lite som cortégen, fast kul att titta på.
Det var kanonväder så det var väldigt mycket folk och svårt att hitta en vettig plats att fota från. Man kan ju välja att fota när ekipagen far över kanten och få kul foton, men ni som känner mig vet att jag inte nöjer mig med det. Jag vill fota skräcken i pilotens ögon. För det känns ändå rimligt att det är lite läskigt att kasta sig ut på det viset. Bilderna är tagna med fullt tele och sen beskurna, så de såg inget vidare ut på kamerans skärm. När särbon tyckte att vi skulle gå till bilen för att slippa p-böter så gick jag med på det.
Första tanken var också att ta bilderna så att inga stora reklamloggor syntes, men faktum är att utan sponsorpengarna hade det inte blivit något jippo, så lite reklam kan jag allt bjuda på, men det går lika bra med selleri.
A Saturday with nothing special to do, but I did bring my camera. First we had som great food from the Ivory Coast and then wandered off to Feskekörka where a soft drink maker had arranged a competition where people hoped to get wings and fly, but they all crashed. Good advertising? It is a bit like the Chalmers cortège, but fun.
Excellent weather so it’s packed with people and it’s hard to find a good spot to shoot from. Obviously you can choose to shoot the machines as they go over the edge and get fun photos, but those who know me, know I won’t be satisfied with that. I want to capture the fear in the pilots eyes as they go down to an uncertain faith. It seems reasonable to be scared, I know I would be. The pictures are taken with my longest tele zoom and then cropped, so they didn’t look that good on the camera screen. When my partner wanted to go the car to avoid a fine, it seemed like a good idea to me as well.
My first thought was to avoid any big logos, but without sponsor money there would be no event to shoot, so I included a big one, just be advised that there are other brands just as good.
